KeyCamX is simple and effective home video surveillance and webcam software for Macintosh. It can record images simultaneously from multiple cameras compatible with your Mac (both Intel and PowerPC), for example internal or external iSight, mini DV camcorder, or any USB and FireWire video device supported by Macam, IOXperts or EchoFX drivers. You can choose to store taken Jpeg images on your Mac, .Mac iDisk or FTP server with automatic removal of old recordings. It features smart motion detection with pre-alarm buffer for recording images of what happened before actual triggering event. There are many options for making audible alarms with embedded or custom sound effects, sending emails, starting custom AppleScript files or executing Unix shell scripts. Every camera can be easily adjusted on the fly with brightness, contrast and mirroring/rotation settings. There is even emulation of night vision mode. KeyCamX includes special player where you can browse recorded images and time-lapse archives even if they are located on remote server, and export them as QuickTime movies or image sequences. Whenever KeyCamX records images, it automatically generates plain HTML web pages, so if you have web access to you Mac or use remote storage like iDisk or FTP, you can browse recordings even from your mobile phone.

System Requirements
Mac OS X 10.3 or later, Java 1.4.2 or later, QuickTime 6.5 or later. However, even with the same hardware configuration it performs best on Mac OS X 10.4 or later, Java 1.5 and QuickTime 7.1. Changes in the performance and stability can be dramatic, since Apple has fixed tons of bugs in Java and QuickTime on Tiger that really leads to very good performance of KeyCamX comparing with Panther.
